The present invention is a method for the users engaged in group call to receive short message. It comprises: when the network side decides to send the short message to the users engaged in group call for the users which have connection with the network side sends the short message to the users directly via the connection for the users which have not connection with the network side then initiating a paging and after the paging response information returned by the users have been received sending the short message to the user. The present invention provides the method for users of different pattern and engaged in group call to receive short message therefore the present invention can provide the group call user to receive short message in time and avoid the case of short message being discard due time over therefore improve the reliability of the traffic communication in the wireless communication network.
