Abstract
Apparatus and methods of handing over a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) that belongs to a group of WTRUs from an originating base station to a target base station are described. A method includes the WTRU obtaining information regarding a group to which the WTRU has been assigned and the WTRU receiving at least one of handover reconfiguration information that is common to the group and handover reconfiguration information that is specific to the WTRU. On a condition that the WTRU receives the handover reconfiguration information that is specific to the WTRU, the WTRU initiates a synchronization procedure with the target base station based at least on the received handover reconfiguration information.

Claim
A first long term evolution (LTE) wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:
circuitry configured to receive from a second LTE WTRU a group identifier associated with a group of WTRUs in proximity to the second LTE WTRU; and circuitry configured to receive data with the group identifier over a first LTE physical channel associated with the group; wherein the first LTE physical channel is not an LTE physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and is not an LTE physical downlink control channel (PDCCH).
2. The first LTE WTRU of claim 1 further comprising:
circuitry configured to receive configuration information indicating subframes to monitor for the first LTE physical channel to determine whether messages have the group identifier; and
circuitry configured to monitor the first LTE physical channel for messages with the group identifier in the indicated subframes.
3. The first LTE WTRU of claim 2, wherein the configuration information is received from an evolved Node B (eNB).
4. The first LTE WTRU of claim 3, wherein the configuration information is received over the radio resource control (RRC) layer.
5. A first long term evolution (LTE) wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:
circuitry configured to transmit to a group of LTE WTRUs a group identifier associated with the group of LTE WTRUs in proximity to the first LTE WTRU; and circuitry configured to communicate using a first LTE physical channel that is not an LTE physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and is not an LTE physical downlink control channel (PDCCH); wherein messages sent over the first LTE physical channel for the group have the group identifier.
6. The first LTE WTRU of claim 5, further comprising:
circuitry configured to receive configuration information indicating subframes for transmission of the first LTE physical channel; and circuitry configured to monitor the first LTE physical channel for messages with the group identifier in the indicated subframes.
7. The first LTE WTRU of claim 6, wherein the configuration information is received from an evolved Node B (eNB).
8. The first LTE WTRU of claim 7, wherein the configuration information is received over the radio resource control (RRC) layer.
9. A method performed by a first long term evolution (LTE) wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising:
receiving from a second LTE WTRU a group identifier associated with a group of WTRUs in proximity to the second LTE WTRU; and receiving data with the group identifier over a first LTE physical channel associated with the group; wherein the first LTE physical channel is not an LTE physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and is not an LTE physical downlink control channel (PDCCH).
10. The method of claim 9, further comprising:
receiving configuration information indicating subframes to monitor for the first LTE physical channel to determine whether messages have the group identifier; and monitoring the first LTE physical channel for messages with the group identifier in the indicated subframes.
11. The method of claim 10, wherein the configuration information is received from an evolved Node B (eNB).
12. The method of claim 11, wherein the configuration information is received over the radio resource control (RRC) layer.
13. A method performed by a first long term evolution (LTE) wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising:
transmitting to a group of LTE WTRUs a group identifier associated with the group of LTE WTRUs in proximity to the first LTE WTRU; and communicating using a first LTE physical channel that is not an LTE physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and is not an LTE physical downlink control channel (PDCCH); wherein messages sent over the first LTE physical channel for the group have the group identifier.
14. The method of claim 13, further comprising:
receiving configuration information indicating subframes for transmission of the first LTE physical channel; and monitoring the first LTE physical channel for messages with the group identifier in the indicated subframes.
15. The method of claim 14, wherein the configuration information is received from an evolved Node B (eNB).
16. The method of claim 15, wherein the configuration information is received over the radio resource control (RRC) layer.
