Abstract  Abstract

1. A method in a wireless communication system for signaling the number of antenna inputs, which contains a transmission unit, the said method is characterized in that a communication signal is transmitted carrying information about the number of at least one antenna inputs in said transmission unit, and the information about said number is at least at least one antenna input is split and provided distributed over at least two predetermined portions of said communication signal. The method of claim 1, wherein the predetermined first portion of said communication signal relates to signaling a first number of at least one antenna input corresponding to the first type of antenna inputs, which comprises said transmission unit, and the predetermined second portion of said communication signal relates to signaling a second number of antenna inputs corresponding to a second type of antenna inputs, which comprises said transmission unit, said first and second types of antenna inputs differing from each other. The method of claim 2, wherein said communication signal is a set of information bits with masked cyclic redundancy check parity bits attached. The method of claim 3, wherein said predetermined first portion of said communication signal comprises a cyclic redundancy check mask corresponding to said first number of at least one antenna port. The method of claim 4, wherein said first number of at least one antenna port is one, two, or four. The method according to claim 4, in which
