Abstract  Abstract

Embodiments contemplate enabling relay node uplink control information transmission over an interface between a relay node and a donor eNodeB (DeNB) in one or more subframes. Embodiments contemplate a technique for avoiding a restriction on uplink transmission in a cell (perhaps due to subframe configuration), such as through a primary cell, where the limitation is an interface between a relay node and a donor eNodeB (DeNB). Transmission of the relay node uplink control information through the node may be difficult (although not impossible). Embodiments also contemplate that resources on the interface between the relay node and the donor eNodeB may be scheduled across one or more component carriers or serving cells.
