Abstract
In one embodiment of the present invention, a method for supporting multiple protocols in a wireless network operating according to the IEEE 802.16 standard includes a new convergence lower layer (CS) type in which an extra field is added to an 802.16 service data unit (SDU). Adding thereby indicating which higher layer protocol is carried in the 802.16 SDU payload.
