Abstract  Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for controlling the transmission of a reverse link in a mobile communication system is provided to control a planned reverse link in a base station when reversely transmitting a next frame by previously grasping whether it is possible to increase the next frame in a mobile station and transmitting the next frame to the base station. CONSTITUTION: A base station checks whether a current reverse link is an overload state(500). If the current reverse link is the overload state, the base station checks whether the reverse link is a low load state(502). If the reverse link is the low load state, the base station sets an expanding RAB(Reverse Activity Bit) as 10 and transmits the set expanding RAB to a mobile station(510). If the reverse link is not the low load state, the base station checks an increase persistence pre-test result(PreTestRes) value received from the mobile station and checks whether an overload is generated in a next frame(504). If the overload is generated in the next frame, the base station sets the expanding RAB as 11(508). If the overload is not generated in the next frame, the base station sets the expanding RAB as 00(506).
