Abstract
Techniques for performing inter-frequency and / or radio access technology (RAT) measurements are disclosed. A multi-receiver wireless transmit / receive unit (WTRU) may simultaneously receive downlink transmission signals on a plurality of downlink carriers. The WTRU may perform inter-frequency and / or inter-RAT measurements using an inactive receiver without a measurement gap if at least one receiver is deactivated. If the WTRU has received a measurement command for a disabled carrier, the WTRU can perform measurements on the disabled carrier using an inactive receiver without a measurement gap while maintaining the state of this disabled carrier as disabled have. The WTRU may autonomously perform inter-frequency and / or inter-RAT measurements when the trigger condition is met and at least one receiver is deactivated.
