Abstract  Abstract

Embodiments of a method and base station for reducing asynchronous interference in a multi-layer OFDMA overlay network are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the lower layer base station is configured to adjust the OFDMA frame boundaries so that the frames communicated by the upper layer arrive at the lower layer base station within the cyclic prefix. The lower layer base station may also be configured to adjust the OFDMA frame boundaries so that frames communicated by the lower layer of the network arrive at the upper layer mobile station within the cyclic prefix. Thus, frames from one layer can reach within the cyclic prefix of the other layer, reducing asynchronous interference.
