Abstract  Abstract

A method and apparatus for receiving a high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) transmission is disclosed. The HS-DSCH Media Access Control (MAC-ehs) entity receives a MAC-ehs protocol data unit (PDU) over a high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) while in one of the Cell_FACH, Cell_PCH, and URA_PCH states. The reordering PDU included in the MAC-ehs PDU may be sent to the next processing entity without performing reordering of the PDU. Upon occurrence of the triggering event, the predetermined reorder queue enters the suspended state and the MAC-ehs PDUs distributed to the realigned queue in the suspended state can be forwarded to the next processing entity without performing reordering. The MAC-ehs reset procedure may be extended for a predetermined transmission such that the MAC-ehs reset is performed after receiving the MAC-ehs PDU in the target cell.
