Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for transmitting/receiving a packet via an HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access).

SOLUTION: A method for receiving a packet via a high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) includes steps of: receiving a plurality of HSDPA media access control (MAC-hs) protocol data units (PDUs) therein each MAC-hs PDU includes a segment of at least one MAC-hs service data unit (SDU); setting a timer when the segment of the MAC-hs SDU is received therein the timer is configured so as to be reset when a second segment of the MAC-hs SDU is received; storing the segment of the MAC-hs SDU for reassembly; and discarding the stored segment of the MAC-hs SDU under such a condition that the timer expires before the second segment of the MAC-hs SDU is received.
