Abstract  Abstract

To maintain a time alignment with a plurality of uplink carriers.SOLUTION: A group (UL CC set) of uplink carriers operated in a single timing advance (TA) is determined, and a TA value may be adapted to a specified UL CC set. A wireless transmission reception unit (WTRU) can use the plurality of TAs. A group index of several bits can be defined to each UL CC set. A TA command received in a random access response message may be used for adapting the TA value in each UL carriers of the UL CC set. The WTRU determines to which UL CC set the TA value is applied, based on from which DL carriers the command is transmitted. On the basis of the group index provided by the command, which UL CC set the TA value is adapted can be determined. The WTRU may release a multi CC construction when a time alignment timer (TAT) is finished.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
