PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for conducting transmission diversity-type transmission power control in an uplink and a wireless transmit receive unit.

SOLUTION: A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) receives a signal including a transmission diversity offset value from a network determines a transmission power level of an uplink signal and transmits the uplink signal at the determined transmission power level. The transmission diversity offset value is added to determine the transmission power level on the condition that the uplink signal will be transmitted by using transmission diversity.
