Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide techniques for supporting HNB (home NodeB) mobility and virtual active set management in support of soft handover.SOLUTION: An eNodeB (eNB) receives a first signal from a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). The first signal includes a closed subscriber group identifier (CSG ID) for a home eNodeB (H(e)NB). The eNB, on the basis of the first signal, transmits a membership confirmation request for the HNB to a core network and, when receiving a result of membership confirmation from the core network, transmits a message for the HNB establishing communication with the WTRU to the HNB. The message includes radio access bearer information associated with the WTRU. The eNB, when receiving a configuration message from the HNB, transmits a second signal including a radio resource control (RRC) re-configuration message to the WTRU, on the basis of the configuration message.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
