Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for cell update and reselection during Cell FACH state.

SOLUTION: After selection of a target cell system information is read from a target cell including HS-DSCH common system information. Wireless network temporary identification information (RNTI) received in the source cell is cleared and a variable HS_DSCH_RECEPTION is set to TRUE. A HS-DSCH MAC-hs entity is constituted based on the HS-DSCH common system information. Next HSDPA transmission is received in the target cell. A CELL UPDATE message is transmitted for notifying of cell change. The HSDPA transmission can be received using the common H-RNTI broadcast in the system information the H-RNTI ensured as requested in the CELL UPDATE message or the temporary subset i.e. the subset of the U-RNTI.
