Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus that efficiently performing signal transmission of resources and efficiently use the resources to perform wireless communication for supporting circuit switching (CS) and packet switching (PS) sessions.

SOLUTION: Signal transmission and interaction between a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and various network entities such as a Mobility Management Entity (MME) a Visitor Location Register (VLR) and a Base Station (BS) are used to implement circuit switching fall back (CSFB) in a PS system.
