Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for properly handling latent congestion on a network which may be caused when many MTC devices simultaneously perform network registration.SOLUTION: A group-based machine type communication (MTC) wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) operates in an MTC group. An MTC WTRU belonging to the same MTC group uses a group-based international mobile subscriber identification number (IMSI) and a group-based IP address for data communication. Further, the MTC WTRU performs group-based network registration. Group-based IP addresses and wireless resources are allocated to the MTC group in advance. A master MTC performs a network registration/connection process for the MTC group. MTC WTRUs in one group perform transmission according to time windows shifting in position.
