Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for handling a control message for a retransmission request in a mobile communication system.

SOLUTION: A method includes the processes of: generating a first missing sequence number (FMS) describing a sequence number of a data unit having the lowest sequence number among data units that are not received; determining whether or not there is a data unit having a sequence number larger than the sequence number described in the FMS departing from the order among already received data units; generating a bitmap indicating permission or rejection to receive a plurality of data units having sequence numbers larger than the FMS if there is a data unit departing from the order in the determined result; and transmitting the FMS and the bitmap by associating them.
