Abstract
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for layer 2 processing and creation of protocol data units (PDUs) for wireless communications.
SOLUTION: A method for creating PDUs for an enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) in wireless communications comprises steps of: generating a plurality of medium access control (MAC-is) PDUs each of which comprises at least one MAC-is service data unit (SDU) comprising at least one of a complete higher layer PDU or a segment of a higher layer PDU; generating a plurality of MAC-i headers each of which corresponds to a MAC-is PDU; and concatenating the MAC-i headers and the MAC-is PDUs to form a MAC-i PDU.
