Abstract  Abstract

A method and apparatus for providing service feedback for a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) is described. A wireless transmit / receive unit (WTRU) may receive an MBMS service inquiry message and send an MBMS service response via the MBMS control channel. The MBMS service inquiry message and the MBMS service response message may be radio resource controller messages. The MBMS service inquiry message may include an MBMS service identifier, which identifies the MBMS service that the WTRU is receiving or intends to receive. The WTRU may generate a report with an MBMS service identifier index value, each MBMS service identifier index value being the MBMS in the list of original queries that the WTRU is currently receiving or intends to receive. Indicates the location of the service identifier corresponding to the service. The MBMS service status inquiry message may be received alone or with the MBSFNAreaConfiguration message. The WTRU may respond within a pre-determined or set deadline.
