Abstract  Abstract

A charging control method for packet data service is disclosed. The method monitors a plurality of event triggers, and transmits a charging rule request from the traffic plane function (TPF) to the charging rule function (CRF) when one of the event triggers is satisfied. including. In the present invention, a plurality of event triggers from which the TPF is required to request charging rules from the CRF are set by the CRF and supplied to the TPF. Charging related input information is supplied to the request, and the CRF determines an appropriate charging rule based on this information, and transmits the determined charging rule to the TPF. Thus, the timing at which the TPF requests charging rules from the CRF can be controlled, and redundant information caused by unnecessary charging rules from the TPF can be avoided, thereby making the interaction between the TPF and the CRF more effective, Data service billing control can be made reasonable and complete.
