A method carried out by means of an access device (12) of a long-term LTE evolution system, the procedure comprises: specifying, in relation to a single carrier PDCCH region, a first carrier search space (f1) consisting of a first grouping of physical downlink control channel PDCCH candidates as a first CCE group (146, 148, 150, 152) and a second bearer (f2) search space consisting of a second grouping of PDCCH candidates as a second group (154, 156, 158, 160) CCE; transmitting an indication of a first carrier index for the first carrier and a second carrier index for the second carrier in order to indicate which carriers correspond to which CCE group; and transmitting a grant of resources for at least a first and second bearer to an EU user equipment (10) based on at least one PDCCH candidate of the first or second groupings.
