A method for use in a wireless transmission / reception unit WRTU (Wireless Transmit / Receive Unit, in English) (500), the method being characterized by: generating a routing area indicator, RAI, information element IE (Information Element, in English), based on data from the tracking area indicator, TAI (Tracking Area Indicator, in English), in which the RAI IE is no longer in the TAI data; generate a Packet Temporary Subscriber Identity IE, P-TMSI - Packet Temporar and Mobile Subscriber Identity, in English, based on a Temporary Mobile Subscriber S-identity of, S-TMSI (SAE-Temporar and Mobile Subscriber Identity, in English) where at least one bit of the S-TMSI is not included in the P-TMSI; generate a routing area update request message, where the routing area update request message includes the RAI IE and the P-TMSI; and transmit the routing area update request message.
