Abstract  Abstract

A wireless transmitting/receiving unit (WTRU) for selecting high efficiency enhanced transmission format combination (E-TFC) wherein the WTRU supports size of flexible radio link control (RLC) packet data unit (PDU) and media access control (MAC) layer subsection. The E-TFC selection body is set for using the data from the logical channel for filling the media access control (MAC-e) packet data unit (PDU). In one execution mode said E-TFC selection body uses the independent request from said MAC layer to said RLC layer to request to be permitted for transmitting in logical channel for generating the MAC-e bit number. In another execution mode said MAC body makes one or multiple enhanced MAC-e PDU independent requests of set size to said RLC.
