Abstract  Abstract

This utility model claims a wireless transmission/receiving unit (WTRU) for pulse shaping of EGPRS-2 the WTRU comprising: a receiver for receiving an allocation message comprising a pulse shaping information element indicative of narrowband or broadband pulse shaping to be used at a frequency by the WTRU a processor coupled to the receiver and a transmitter and used for determining the pulse shaping to be used by the WTRU based on the pulse shaping information element and the transmitter used for using the pulse shaping determined by the processor to transmit data at the frequency. By using the specific pulse shaping at the specific frequency the WTRU can use the broadband pulse shaping to perform transmission at a higher data rate or use the narrowband pulse shaping to reduce interferences in an adjacent frequency so that the WTRU allows network to provide a totally higher data rate at the same time of controlling and minimizing the interferences.
