Abstract  Abstract

Methods and apparatus for performing wireless communication in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) configured for multiple radio access technology (RAT) operation are disclosed. The method comprises: establishing a connection with a first cell using a first radio access technology (RAT), wherein the WTRU transmits radio resource control (RRC) information having a first RRC format of the firstRAT using a first signaling radio bearer (SRB); receiving, using the first RAT, an RRC reconfiguration message including configuration information for a second RAT, the configuration information for the second RAT including establishment information for a second SRB, the first RAT and the second RAT being different RATs; and communicating using both the first RAT and the second RAT.
