Abstract  Abstract

Disclosed are systems, methods, and tools for uplink operation in LTE unlicensed spectrum (LTE-U). A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) configuration information, such as LAA configuration information about a first cell, from a second cell. The first cell may be associated with operation in an unlicensed frequency band and the second cell may be associated with operation in a licensed frequency band. The WTRU may determine whether the first subframe is a Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) subframe for the first cell. The WTRU may determine SRS resources for the first subframe if the first subframe is an SRS subframe for the first cell and may determine whether to trigger the WTRU to transmit an SRS transmission in the first subframe. The WTRU may transmit an SRS transmission on an SRS resource for the first subframe if it is determined to trigger the WTRU to transmit the SRS transmission in the first subframe.
