Abstract  Abstract

The invention claims a method and apparatus for performing a selected Internet Protocol (IP) traffic offloading (SIPTO) program. A network node (e.g. the mobile management entity (MME) or general packet radio service (GPRS) service support node (SGSN)) from a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) receives packet data network (PDN) connection request. may determine executing SIPTO on the local network and the WTRU may perform PDN releasing and re-connecting program. the determination may be based on at least one closed subscriber group (CSG) identifier (ID) a Home evolved Node-B (HeNB) ID or a local network ID. inquiring IP interface selecting (OPIIS) rule can be to access network discovery and selection function (ANDSF) supported at the local network of each flow SIPOT of the local access point name (APN) and may be routed to the IP stream of the local APN.
