An M2M GW and a method implemented at an M2M GW for M2M device management are disclosed, the M2M GW including: a processor configured to execute instructions for implementation; a reachability, addressing, and repository RAR entity configured to receive requests from another RAR entity and aggregate data from a plurality of M2M devices, the RAR entity comprising: a mapping table configured to store M2M devices and corresponding network addresses, wherein a particular M2M of the M2M devices is associated with a group name, and the mapping table stores the network address of each M2M device associated with the group name; and an M2M device and M2M gateway managing an MDGM entity configured to receive management requests associated with the group name and to process the management requests on behalf of the M2M device associated with the group name, wherein the RAR entity and the MDGM entity provide services to connected M2M devices.
