Abstract  Abstract

The invention discloses a method to allocate resources to a WTRU, the WTRU, a method executed by the WTRU and the base station. The method to allocate the resources to the WTRU is executed by the WTRU and comprises steps of transmitting a signature sequence; receiving an acknowledge signal responding to the signature sequence; receiving allocation information which indicates the first subset of an enhanced type dedicated channel (E-DCH) resource allocation parameter set; receiving a system information block (SIB) of the second subset of the E-DCH resource allocation parameter set via the a broadcast channel; and using the combination of the first subset and the second subset to configure the WTRU for enhanced type uplink transmission.
