Abstract
A method and apparatus are described for performing dual carrier operation. first timer started for the anchor carrier second timer started for the supplementary carrier. prior to synchronization indication predefined number is counted from the layer 1 (L1) entity receives as long as any one of the expiration of a timer declaring a physical channel failure. and the physical channel failure auxiliary carrier on the associated uplink transmission and reinforced type special channel (E-DCH) is stopped but the established physical channel on the anchor carrier to continue. if the physical channel failure associated with the anchor carrier the uplink transmission and E-DCH transmission operation on all carriers is stopped.
