Abstract  Abstract

The invention claims a one for executing from source cell to service of target cell high speed downlink chain shared channel (HS-DSCH) cell change of method and device. Radio network controller can be wireless transmission/receive unit (WTRU) for pre-loaded HS-DSCH configuration of said target cell. HS-DSCH configuration of a WTRU receive and store preloaded. The condition that THE WTRU can be event 1D triggering of a report of low use of preloading for target cell HS-DSCH configuration of monitoring of a target to start up of a high speed shared control channel (HS-SCCH). When the WTRU starting monitoring time of HS-SCCH up of a target cell the WTRU can start timer and once the timer expires the stop monitoring of HS-SCCH up of target cell.

A method and apparatus for performing a serving high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) cell change from a source cell to a target cell are disclosed. A radio network controller (RNC) may pre-load a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) with HS-DSCH configuration for the target cell. The WTRU receives and stores the pre-loaded HS-DSCH configuration. The WTRU may start monitoring a high speed shared control channel (HS-SCCH) on the target cell using the pre-loaded HS-DSCH configuration for the target cell on a condition that a measurement report is triggered by the event 1D. The WTRU may initiate a timer when the WTRU starts monitoring the HS-SCCH on the target cell and stop monitoring the HS-SCCH on the target cell upon expiry of the timer.
