METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ACCOMMODATING HIGHER ORDER MODULATION IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION

Abstract

A kind of method and apparatus used for re-configuring wireless transmiting/receiving unit (WTRU) is intended to receive an active set updating message said active set update message indicating that activate or disable to operate a specific modulation scheme and performing at least one of: a MAC reset process updating a set of reference enhanced transport format combination indicator (E-TFCI) and relative power offset is determined E-DPCCH and reinforce the related action modifying and enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) and modification indication E-DCH transport block size table index. The update message comprises at least one of modified information element (IE).
