Abstract  Abstract

A method and arrangement for detecting a manipulated or defective base station of a communications network is disclosed, where a destination base station, having selected one or more algorithms based on a prioritized list of algorithms (PAL) and capabilities of UE security (SCAP), reports on the data of the EU SCAPs to a node of the central network. The central network node that is aware of the EU SCAP compares this information or parts of this information with the information retrieved from the EU SCAPs in order to identify a manipulated or defective base station, if the comparison does not match.
