Abstract  Abstract

A method and apparatus for transmission and reception is disclosed in the case of common logical channel and reserved logical channel transmissions through a high-speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH). A media access control entity (MAC) -hs generates a MAC-hs protocol data unit (PDU) that includes a MAC-c / sh / m PDU and / or a MAC-d PDU. For the MAC-d PDU a temporary HS-DSCH radio network identifier (H-RNTI) can be used for a given user equipment, and for the MAC-c / sh / b PDU an H-RNTI corresponding to a given cell can be used. Alternatively, a concrete cell H-RNTI and a selected identifier of a cell RNTI (C-RNTI) and a universal terrestrial radio access network (U-RNTI) RNTI in the Cell_FACH state can be used. The identity and logical channel class can be interleaved in a MAC-hs PDU header or indicated by a different H-RNTI. In a MAC-c / sh / m PDU header, the logical channel class for common logical channels can be identified. The identity and class of a logical channel can be identified by means of a queue identity.
