Abstract
This is a method and an apparatus for signaling the allocation of resources for the grouping of service users in real time. The connection-up signal for reporting the voice activity of each user transition between an active state and an inactive voice state is sent from a wireless transmission / reception unit to a Node B. The allocation of radio resources to Users of a wireless communication system vary based on user measurement reports, a pre-determined pattern such as frequency hops or a pseudo-random function. The grouping methods are adjusted for a better use of the voice activity factor, so that statistical multiplexing can be used for a more efficient use of physical resources.
