Abstract
It is revealed in a wireless communication system that includes a wireless transmission and reception unit (WTRU) and at least one developed B node (eNB), capable of performing the wireless transmission and reception of data, a method and apparatus for the reduction of additional transmission operations that include receiving a higher layer sequence number (SN). The upper layer sequence number is converted to a service data unit (SSN) sequence number of the radio link control (RLC). An RLC protocol data unit (PDU) is generated for the transmission that includes an RLC SSN, and the additional processing operations involved are optimized.
